TENANTED ESTATE

What is a tenanted house?

A tenant (or tenants) let the pub from Heavitree Brewery and take full responsibility for running the business. A dedicated Area Business Manager will provide support and guidance on how you can maximise the profitability of your business.

A public house which is operated as a tenancy is regulated under a 'Tenancy Agreement' which details the terms by which the company and the individual must operate.

What do I need to become a tenant?

There are a number of initial costs when becoming a tenant. As well as a deposit a tenant is responsible for purchasing the inventory of the pub which includes the trade fixtures and fittings. It is standard procedure to purchase the stock and glassware. Other additional costs include fees associated with the valuers and stock takers who act on your behalf when you take over the pub.

Getting a tenancy

If you are interested in becoming a tenant register your details on our enquiry form. This will be followed up with a call from one of our members of staff at Head Office. Following this first stage, an interview will be held where we can both get to know each other. No tenancies are agreed without an interview.
