Cricket Inn Receives Gold Award
The Cricket Inn in Beesands, near Kingsbridge is celebrating golden success in this year’s Devon Tourism Awards.
The seaside pub scooped Gold in the ‘Tourism Pub of the Year’ category at last week’s lavish ceremony at The Highbullen Hotel, North Devon.
Landlady Rachel Heath commented: “We’re thrilled to have been crowned pub of the year. A massive well done to the whole of the Cricket team, it couldn’t have been achieved without them.”
Manager Stuart Downie added: “To be awarded Gold for the whole of Devon is a huge achievement and an upgrade from Silver last year. It shows the hard work and dedication that the team have put in over the last 12 months.”
Now in their 9th year the awards saw entries across 26 different categories, with each undergoing a rigorous three-phase judging process, including a mystery visit.
Located directly on the South West Coast Path just opposite Beesands beach, The Cricket Inn is a popular choice with locals and holiday makers. Its AA rosette restaurant features fresh local seafood and the village has a strong fishing heritage which is echoed on the walls of the pub.
